We potentially are looking at fundamental changes to the Retake Review/BiL Process.

We will move the locking down away from the RR, to the BiL part of the process. For elements that are booked, but not yet taken we believe the best way to manage this would be to cancel these bookings.

Question to our customers:-

Should an element with an unsubmitted result be cancelled?

  • Potentially show a warning - any bookings without results will be cancelled

  • Option to not cancel bookings when approving the RR → BiL, so that they can stay, with all of the caveats that comes with

    • show notice that cancelling is an option

Appeals - who should have access in following scenario?:

apprentice was previously assigned to EPAx and EPAz completed one element, however for future elements EPAx was not available, therefore the apprentice was reallocated to EPAz to complete these.

If the element which EPAx completed, was then appealed, only EPAz and any EPA Managers assigned to EPAz (the re-allocated apprentices EPA) can view the appeal, despite it being an element assigned to EPAx (not EPAz) that is being appealed.

  • Should the EPA assigned to the element even be able to see appeals against their own work?

  • If so, if the EPA assigned to the element is also the apprentice’s EPA, which should overwrite?

we are wanting to discuss the possibility of an option that could auto-allocate a QA user, so where we currently have the QA engine that determines if something should be qa’d or not, we could also take the allocation of the QA and potentially automate this too.

This would have an optional toggle on/off.
