epaPRO Assess Feature Information
We have built an integration with risr/ and the combined product is called epaPRO Assess.

epaPRO Assess component configuration
If epaPRO Assess is enabled on your environment, then a new selectable service will be shown on the “External Assessment” tab when editing an Assessment Component. Once selected, a new dropdown will also appear for the Blueprint. This blueprint will then be used for future bookings of that component which has the epaPRO Assess external assessment service selected.
Added as an external assessment provider to the assessment plan
The External Assessment stage will display a new service, epaPRO Assess, if configured against the component.
Selecting this service will tell epaPRO to book an external test via the risr/ platform. The test will be booked for the day of the exam, an ItemSet will be generated automatically for each test. The component communications will contain the exam pin and the apprentice’s password, that they will use to login to the platform and then take the test.
The test will not be available until around 5 minutes before the scheduled time. At this point, epaPRO will publish and start the test. At this stage, the element in epaPRO will locked from editing and the apprentice will be able to log in and start their test.
If the apprentice does not attend then the “Did not attend” process in risr/ should be used. This will then be pulled into epaPRO as a Void.
Added as an external assessment service to the assessment booking
The assessment booking process has been updated to support selecting epaPRO assess as an external assessment service, allowing for these to be booked in bulk.
Please note that the component must not currently have Surpass or Other, as possible external services, as these are not currently supported by the Assessment Booking workflow.
Added result pulling for epaPRO Assess tests
epaPRO will be pinged via the API from risr/ that results are available
So as soon as risr/ have processed & released the results epaPRO will be pinged that it is available and try to pull it in.
epaPRO will try to match up the outcome from risr/ with a result in the component’s grade profile.
The following logic is applied:
Element already has a result
Ignore the new result but pull any details (questions and answers)
Apprentice did not attend
Find a grade profile value with the name “void”.
If it isn’t found then a new “Void” grade profile with the “Void” type will be created and used.
Apprentice attended
Find a grade profile value with the outcome name sent from risr/
If it isn’t found, then a new grade profile with the outcome name will be used. The type will be a pass if risr reports that the apprentice passed the exam, otherwise, it’ll be a fail - it will appear in epaPRO as Fail with Next action of Failed by default, this will need to be edited to Next action Resit or retake where appropriate as per Failure Resulting with epaPRO Assess
Once the outcome has been pulled in epaPRO will also try to fetch the questions and answers for the test. These will then be populated into an epaPRO Assess section.
